Our first Story of Hope was about Prophet Sulaiman (as). This week, we're telling the story of Hajar (as), the mother of Ismail (as), and how Allah (swt) sent her the gift of water in the middle of the desert. What lessons can we draw from the life of Hajar (as) and the miracle of Zamzam?
1. Hajar's background
Hajar (as) was the second wife of Prophet Ibrahim (as). He and his first wife, Sarah (as), had been unable to have children for many years, as they carried the message of Allah through the land of Shaam (Greater Syria).
When Ibrahim (as) and Sarah (as) were both very old, they would eventually be blessed with a son named Prophet Ishaq (as). In fact, the news of this birth would be brought to Sarah (as) by angels [The Noble Qur'an, ]! But the couple had no idea that this baby lay in their future, and Sarah (as) did not want Ibrahim (as) to grow old without children.
So, while they were living in Egypt, she suggest
Hazrat Bibi Hajra
Hazrat Ibrahim(a.s) Ki biwi Hazrat Bibi Hajra ke batan se jab Hazrat Ismayl (a.s) Ki wiladat hui to Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) Ko Allah Taala ki janib se hukum hua ke apni biwi aur bachay ko Makkah ke sehraa mein chore aao. Is waqt Makkah sehraye arab ki banjar zameen ka aik tukda tha. Jahan ritile teelon ke siwa kuch nah tha.
Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) Ne jab Bibi Hajra se farmaya ke mein tumhe Makkah ke sehraa mein chorney ja raha hon to aap ne sirf yeh poocha ke
'' Kya aap yeh kaam Allah ke hukum se kar rahay hain ?' '
Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) Ne farmaya :
'' Be shak mera yeh amal mere rab ke hukum ki tameel mein hai.' '
Bibi Hajra ne farmaya :
'' Aap mujhe Allah ke hukum ki tameel mein farmanbardar payen ge.' '
Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s) Allah ke hukum par apni biwi aur nozaida bachay ko sehraa mein chore kar chalay gaye. Chand dinon ke baad jab khanay peenay ka zakheera khatam ho gaya aur pyaas se bachay ki zabaan halaq ko lag gayi to maa ke andar kaleqat ki fitrat be qarari ki soorat mein mutharrak hui. Unhon ne intehai be qarari mein safa aur marwah ke darmiyan saat chakkar lagaye. Saat chakkar ke baad woh marwah se safa tak pohnchain jahan bacha leyta hua tha.

When we talk about Eid-ul-Azha, the talk usually revolves around the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem. His wife Hajra ASW’s immense contribution towards this great feat of human endurance and patience was no less inspiring. Usually we don’t find as many extensive discussions about her paradigmatic role in this story, as we do about her husband. To begin with, her life was a roller coaster, a series of consistent ups and downs, mostly downs. But, surprisingly, she takes them on with a rare aplomb coupled with an unparalleled quiet grit and determination.

Biography of Prophet Ismael (Hazrat Ismail)
Prophet Ismail (A.S.) (also referred as Prophet Ismael) is the figure known in Judaism, Christianity and Islam as Abraham's (A.S.) son, born to Hagar (Hajar or Hajarah). Ismail (A.S.) is regarded as a Prophet and an ancestor to the last Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.). He also became associated with Makkah and the construction of the Kaaba/Qibla.
Birth of Ismail (A.S.):
According to some sources, Ismail (A.S.) was born in BC in present day Palestine.
Sarah, the first wife of Ibrahim (A.S.), knew that her husband was longing for a child. As Allah has mentioned Ibrahim’s (A.S.) dua in Quran:
"O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" (Surah Al Saffat )
She also knew that she was getting old and may not be able to provide Ibrahim(A.S.) with a child. She suggested to Ibrahim (A.S.) that he should marry her servant Hajar and maybe Allah would bless them with a child through her.
