UoN revokes Senator Mithika Linturi's law degree
University of Nairobi has revoked Meru Senator Mithika Linturi&#;s law degree after claims he presented fake papers to the institution.
Sources at UoN said it reached the decision on Thursday after a joint investigation by the Commission for University Education.
This comes a day after Meru residents called on PNU politician Mugambi Imanyara to withdraw his petition challenging the election of Senator Mithika Linturi.

UoN revokes Senator Mithika Linturi&#;s degree over fake papers
The University of Nairobi has revoked the degree it awarded to Meru Senator Mithika Linturi for presenting fake papers to get admission.
The university’s Senate sat and resolved to de-register the Bachelor of Commerce award on Thursday morning.

Sources at the university told the Nation that the revocation followed an elaborate and in-depth investigation that UoN did jointly with the Commission for University Education (CUE).
Mr Linturi was among leaders the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) flagged as having integrity issues in a list it presented to IEBC in June.
EACC wanted IEBC to block Mr Linturi from running for the Meru seat but he took the fight to the High Court and got temporary reprieve.

But on June 30, the Senator lost his bid to stop EACC from summoning him over alleged false self-declaration forms he submitted to the commission in
Separately, Mr Mugambi Imanyara, who also ran for the Meru seat on Party of National Unity ticket, has challenged the senator&#;s election win, questioning his integrity.
