Ken Follett was born on 5 June in Cardiff, Wales. His Father Martin Follett was a Tax inspector. Ken was restricted from watching movies and cartoons on Television by his parents with which he developed the habit of reading right from his childhood.
His own family moved to London when he turned ten years, and he began applying himself to his studies at Harrow Weald Grammar faculty and Poole Technical university.
In , he got admitted to University College, London, where he studied philosophy. He then become involved in Centre-Left Politics. After his graduation, he took a three-month course in journalism. He started to work as a trainee reporter in Cardiff on the South Wales Echo.
