In this spirit, we cordially welcome you to Transcribe Bentham, a double award-winning collaborative transcription initiative, which is digitising and making available digital images of Bentham&#;s unpublished manuscripts through a platform known as the &#;Transcription Desk&#;. There, you can access the material and—just as importantly—transcribe the material, to help the work of UCL&#;s Bentham Project, and further improve access to, and searchability of, this enormously important collection of historical and philosophical material.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to research and scholarship by contributing to the production of the new edition of The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham, and to help create for posterity a vast digital repository of Bentham&#;s writings.

The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham
The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham
Since , thirty-six volumes of the new and authoritative critical edition of The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham have been published, from an anticipated total of more than eighty volumes.
The current General Editor of The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham is Professor Philip Schofield. The edition's previous General Editors were J.H. Burns (–79), J.R. Dinwiddy (–83), Frederick Rosen (–95), and Frederick Rosen and Philip Schofield (–).

Transcribe Bentham
Welcome to the Transcription Desk
The Transcription Desk is the heart of a major online initiative to transcribe the manuscripts of the English philosopher Jeremy Bentham. It is managed by the Bentham Project at University College London.
You are invited to assist us by using the Transcription Desk to type up the text of Bentham's manuscripts.
These transcripts will make it easier for anyone to access and read Bentham's papers, and will be used by scholars at the Bentham Project in the production of the new critical edition of The Collected Works of Jeremy Bentham.
