Late Mrs. Funmilayo Adunni Olayinka, the deceased Deputy Governor of Ekiti state will continue to live in the hearts of many for obvious reasons. For someone who left a footprint on the sands of time, she cannot be easily forgotten. The encomiums that were showered on her and the befitting burial given to her were well deserved. For her unassuming nature even in spite of her beauty and having lived a life that provided inspiration for many, she deserved nothing less.
An epitome of beauty and character, the late Funmilayo, fondly called ‘Moremi Ekiti’ by the people of Ekiti state whom she served with ultimate loyalty, was no doubt a woman of virtue. A woman that made womenfolk proud by living exemplary life of courage, tenacity and loyalty. In the face of the vicissitude of life, she exhibited exemplary courage – the type that is rare to find among her contemporaries.

A specially dedicated website for the late Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka has been hosted.
The hosting of the website: is part of the activities for the state burial of the late deputy Governor, who died on April 6,
The website contains speeches and photographs of the late deputy governor as well as her biographies and her activities as deputy governor of the state between October 15, till she breath her last on April 6th,
The website also contains tributes written by friends, colleagues and well wishers of the deceased.
According to a statement by the central planning committee of the state burial, interested members of the public are encouraged to visit the website and contribute their tributes to the tribute section of the site ahead of the Lying –in-state and special tributes session holding on Thursday.

Her death meant many things to many people, so much that, what would have ordinarily been regarded as a loss to Ekiti people became a national loss.
In a way, the period of grief ironically became a moment of unity for indigenes and non-indigenes of the state. In mourning the late deputy governor, members of different political parties, religious divides and ethnic backgrounds forgot their differences and took time out to identify with her family, the administration and Ekiti as a whole.
