Launched in , The Secret Sisters is a harmony-rich folk duo featuring siblings Laura Rogers and Lydia Slagle. Raised by a musical family in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the sisters sang together in church and later went to Los Angeles, where they recorded their first album with producers Dave Cobb and T-Bone Burnett. The self-titled debut went to number 3 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart and number 8 on the Americana/Folk Albums Chart. Burnett worked with the band once again on the follow-up record 'Put Your Needle Down,' which topped the Heatseekers in and peaked at number three on the Americana/Folk Chart. The Secret Sisters &#x; Lydia and Laura Rogers &#x; grew up just outside of Florence, Ala., and though they've toured the world, their hearts (and homes) are still firmly placed in the South. Their camaraderie and respect for their hometown roots have always inspired their music, and helped them overcome some abrupt, difficult and life-altering obstacles.
